Mule Mountain Labs privacy policy
The short version
Fermozi keeps your work on your phone. There's no account to make, the app has no ads, no tracking and no analytics of our own, and we never sell information about you.
- Your jobs, customers, photos, rates and business details stay in Fermozi on your phone. We can't see them.
- They leave your phone when you send them, such as a quote you email or text to a customer or a backup file you save, and when your phone backs up or syncs a calendar event you added.
- Besides the app stores' sales reports and the anonymous record RevenueCat keeps for us of each phone's trial or purchases, we see only what you choose to send us: an email to support, or your email address if you joined our website's waitlist before it closed.
- On Android, scanning a paint record's code uses Google's code reader, which sends Google its own diagnostics, never the picture or what the code holds. See What leaves your phone, below.
Who we are
Mule Mountain Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company, makes Fermozi, an estimating app for painters, and runs fermozi.com and mulemountainlabs.com. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Mule Mountain Labs, and "you" means anyone who uses Fermozi or visits our websites.
This policy covers the Fermozi app on iPhone and Android, and our websites, fermozi.com and mulemountainlabs.com. It takes effect on October 9, 2026, and was last updated on November 7, 2026. Fermozi isn't available in the app stores yet. This policy describes the app as we plan to release it, and we'll update the policy before the release if anything changes.
What Fermozi keeps on your phone
Everything you enter in Fermozi is saved in the app's own storage on your phone. We have no server for it, and we can't see it.
- Your business profile: your name, business name, phone, email, address, website, license number, tax number, insurance details and logo, the payment details you choose to show on your invoices and accepted quotes, the deposit you usually ask for, your taxes for new jobs, the terms and notices your quotes start with, and your Google review link.
- Your rates: your labor rate, how fast you work inside and outside, paint prices and coverage, sundries and markup.
- Your jobs: each customer's or project's name and address, the customer's phone number and email and the language for their quotes, the rooms and outside areas with their measurements and condition, what gets painted and in which colors, the paint you used, line items, notes, your notes for the crew, job dates and status, a note of what you sent, how and when, the discounts and taxes on its price, the percentage you use to adjust its price, the terms and notices for its quote, the deposit, the payments you record, and a general contractor's company, contact details and purchase order or subcontract number.
- Photos: pictures you take or pick for a job or your logo. Fermozi keeps a resized copy without the location or other hidden details the original carried.
- Measuring a room: On iPhones, the ruler in a room's size boxes measures with the camera, and on iPhones and iPads with a LiDAR Scanner, Scan room measures a room's walls, doors and windows, both with Apple's ARKit and RoomPlan, on your phone. Fermozi keeps only the sizes you save in the room: the camera's picture and the scan itself are never saved, sent or shared.
- Signed quotes: when a customer accepts a quote on your phone, Fermozi keeps a copy of the quote exactly as they saw it, with the package they chose, their name, their signature, and the date and time.
- Documents, bids and invoices: documents you attach to quotes and bids, such as your insurance certificate or license, and the details of the bids and invoices you send.
- Your settings: such as language, units, your working day, who you paint for, your document style and your crew's language.
- Your plan: whether this phone has had a free trial or subscription, so Fermozi can open for a painter who pays when the store can't be reached. Your purchases ID, the anonymous ID RevenueCat made for this install of Fermozi, sits in RevenueCat's own copy on your phone. No screen shows the ID: only Contact support's email does, so we can find your trial or purchases if you ask us about them or to delete them.
What leaves your phone
Apart from checking your plan through RevenueCat and, on Android, the diagnostics Google's code reader sends when you scan a code, both below, Fermozi sends nothing on its own. It has no analytics of our own, no crash reporting, advertising or tracking code, and no server of ours to check in with. App updates come only through the App Store or Google Play.
Information leaves your phone in these ways:
- Quotes, bids and invoices. Fermozi makes the document on your phone, and you choose how it goes out: email, text, print or another app. It then goes to the people you send it to, through that app, under that service's own privacy terms. Each carries the business details you entered, your tax number among them if you add one, and the discounts and taxes on its price. An accepted quote can carry the codes and links your customer uses to pay a deposit.
- Thank-you messages and receipts. When a job is paid in full, Fermozi can open a thank-you to your customer, with your Google review link, in your email app, your messages app or your phone's share sheet. It can carry a receipt: the paid invoice with its payments, the paint used room by room, and a code for your Google review page. You decide whether to send it.
- Paint records. A paint record, which you send to your customer, carries your business details, the job's address, the month it was painted and the paint used, room by room and area by area, with no prices and no customer's name. Its code holds only the month it was painted, that paint and the names of the rooms and areas, so the next painter can scan it into Fermozi.
- Paint lists. A paint list names the job, your business and the paint to buy, with no prices and no other customer details, and goes by text, email or share to whoever you pick.
- Crew work orders. A work order for your crew, which you send by text, email or share, carries your business details, the customer's name and the job's address, dates, rooms and areas, colors, paint list, estimated hours, photos with their notes, and your notes for the crew. It never carries a price, the customer's phone or email, or a signature.
- Before-and-after cards. A card is a picture made from two of a job's photos, with the Fermozi mark and, if you choose, your business name and logo. It carries no customer details, room names, notes or location. You share it through your phone's share sheet.
- Calls, texts and directions. From a job or the jobs list, you can call or text your customer or a general contractor's contact, or get directions to the job: Fermozi opens your phone's own phone, messages or maps app with the number or the job's address filled in, and the call, message or route goes from there. A maps app handles the address under its own terms.
- Contact support. This opens your email app with our address, a subject line, the app version, your phone's model and its system version filled in, and on Android, from Help, the size of Fermozi's saved records. It fills in this phone's purchases ID too. You see the email before you send it, and it carries no job or customer details unless you add them.
- Tell another painter. This opens your phone's share sheet with a link to our website.
- Help pages. How Fermozi works, this policy and our company page open on our websites, in your phone's browser.
- Backups and calendar. If your phone backs up its apps, or syncs a calendar event you added from Fermozi, Apple or Google keeps that copy. See Backups and deleting your data, below.
- Backup files. Fermozi makes a backup file only when you ask, in its Settings. The file holds everything Fermozi keeps, your customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and signatures among it, but not your plan. You choose where it goes, such as Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or an email. Fermozi sends it nowhere itself, and deletes its own working copy the next time it opens. The file has no password, so anyone who has it can open it: keep it somewhere private. Restoring a backup reads the file on your phone and sends nothing.
- Checking your plan. Fermozi uses RevenueCat, Inc. to check and restore free trials and subscriptions, each time Fermozi opens, for every painter, and when you tap Restore purchases. RevenueCat gets your purchase history from Apple or Google under an anonymous ID it makes for this install of Fermozi, and with each check your phone's maker, model and system version, its languages and store country, Fermozi's version and, on iPhone, the ID Apple gives Fermozi for your phone, never the advertising ID. Like any service Fermozi contacts, it sees your phone's internet address. It never gets your jobs, customers, rates, photos, documents, name or email. We use it to check and restore purchases and for its reports of purchases to us. RevenueCat handles this information for us, under this policy and our agreement with RevenueCat, as RevenueCat's own privacy policy explains. To have it deleted, write to us with Contact support, in Fermozi's Help or on its plans screen, so the email names this phone's purchases ID, or send us the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt for your trial or subscription. If you never started one and Fermozi is no longer on your phone, nothing links you to the anonymous record your phone left with RevenueCat, so we can't find it to delete it.
- Scanning a code, on Android. On Android phones, Fermozi reads a paint record's code with Google's ML Kit, which sends Google its own diagnostics: the phone's maker, model and system, Fermozi's package name and version, an identifier for each install, and the reader's timing, settings and errors, for Google's diagnostics and usage analytics. It never sends the picture or what the code holds, and Fermozi itself sends nothing when you scan.
- Reports from the app stores. Apple and Google give us sales and subscription reports, which can include a buyer's country, state or ZIP code. If you've agreed on your phone to share them with app developers, they also give us crash reports and usage statistics.
Phone permissions
Fermozi asks for a permission only the first time you use the feature that needs it. Saying no turns off just that feature, and you can change your answer anytime in your phone's Settings.
| Permission | When Fermozi asks | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | When you take a photo, scan a paint record's code, or scan or measure a room | Photos of a job, a document or your logo; reading a paint record's code; measuring a length with the ruler on an iPhone; and scanning a room on an iPhone or iPad with a LiDAR Scanner. Reading a code, measuring or scanning keeps no picture |
| Photos | When you pick a picture, if your phone requires it | Only the pictures you pick |
| Adding to Photos, on iPhone | The first time you save a shared picture, such as a before-and-after card or a document photo, to Photos | Saving that picture. It doesn't let Fermozi see your photos. |
| Storage, on Android 9 and older | When you take a photo, on those phones only | Letting the camera save the photo you take, so Fermozi can keep its own copy. Fermozi doesn't open your other files. |
| Calendar | Never | Add to calendar opens your phone's own calendar screen with the job's dates filled in, and you save the event there. Fermozi never reads your calendar. |
Fermozi never asks for your location or your contacts.
Subscriptions and payments
Fermozi's paid plan, Fermozi Unlimited, is sold through the App Store and Google Play, by the month or the year, and starts with a 14-day free trial when your store offers you one. Apple or Google takes the payment, and we never see your card or bank details. You cancel it in your phone's subscription settings, and it stays with the store you bought it in. Without an active free trial or subscription, Fermozi opens to its plans, and your jobs stay on your phone until you delete the app. Fermozi checks your plan through RevenueCat, as Checking your plan says, above.
We don't sell anything on our websites and never ask you to pay outside the app stores.
Fermozi never receives or moves the money for your jobs. The codes and links on your invoices and accepted quotes open your own Venmo, Cash App or PayPal page, where your customer pays you directly under that service's terms, and the payments you record in Fermozi are notes kept on your phone.
Your customers' information
You decide what to record about your customers and where to send it. Their names, addresses, phone numbers, photos, signatures and payments stay on your phone with your jobs and in any backup file you make, and we never receive them.
Because you hold that information, any request a customer makes about it, such as asking you to delete it, comes to you. Fermozi lets you delete a job, with everything kept with it.
When you hand your phone to a customer to choose a package and sign, Fermozi shows them the quote in their language, never your costs, rates or hours.
Backups and deleting your data
If your phone backs up its apps to iCloud or Google, those backups include Fermozi's data, so restoring your phone, or setting up a new one from its backup, brings your jobs back. On iPhone, iCloud Backup includes everything Fermozi keeps. On Android, Google's backup includes everything Fermozi keeps except your photos, logo and attached documents, which move to a new Android phone only in a direct transfer from a phone running Android 12 or later. Apple and Google keep these backups under their own terms.
You can also make a backup file in Fermozi's Settings and keep it where you choose, as What leaves your phone says. Restoring one replaces your saved work on that phone with the file's copy, after showing you what would change. Your quote, bid and invoice numbers never go backward: each continues from the higher of the phone's and the file's last number, so no number is given twice.
You can delete your data in Fermozi:
- Delete a job, and its photos, signed quotes, bids, invoices and payments go with it.
- To empty your business profile, clear its text boxes and the insurance expiration date, set Invoices are due to On receipt, tap Remove logo, then tap Save profile. Also set Deposit for new quotes to None and save it, remove each tax under Taxes for new jobs, and clear Terms and notices for quotes and save it.
- Delete the app to remove everything it saved on your phone, except, on Android, the purchases ID that RevenueCat also keeps in Google Play services once this phone has had a free trial or subscription, so RevenueCat can link a reinstall to your earlier trial or purchases. That ID stays on the phone as long as the phone's Google backup is on.
Copies already in your phone's backups, backup files you've saved, calendar events you added, and documents you've sent stay where they are. Because your app data never reaches us, we have none of it to delete.
Our website, the waitlist and emails you send us
Our websites. fermozi.com and mulemountainlabs.com have no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Like any website host, Cloudflare handles the technical details each visit involves, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. We don't keep these records ourselves, and Cloudflare handles them under its own privacy policy.
The waitlist. It's closed. We kept each address on it, with the language and the date it was signed up in, with Cloudflare, only to email that person once, when Fermozi is available. We don't use the list for anything else, and we delete it once that email has gone out. You can ask us to delete your address sooner.
Emails to us. When you email [email protected], we get your email address, your message and anything you include, such as the app version, phone model and system version Fermozi fills in. We use it to answer you and keep it in our company email, run by Google Workspace, for 24 months after your last message. Ask us anytime to delete your messages sooner.
Who else handles information
Our service providers may use information only to provide their service to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does. They are Google Workspace for our email, Cloudflare for our websites and the waitlist, and RevenueCat for checking free trials and subscriptions. They may handle it in the United States and other countries where they work, under data protection terms that include the safeguards the law requires for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses. RevenueCat keeps a phone's anonymous record for as long as we use RevenueCat to check plans, unless we delete it sooner when you ask.
We also share information when the law requires it, or with a buyer of our business that agrees to keep this policy.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what information we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to our privacy officer, the company's owner, at [email protected]. We'll answer within the time your local law sets, and never later than 30 days. For most people, all we have is their emails to us or their waitlist address, and the anonymous record RevenueCat keeps for us of their phone's trial or purchases. That record carries no name, but we treat it as information about you.
- California and other US states. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. We haven't sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months, and we don't give it to others for their marketing. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
- Do Not Track. Neither Fermozi nor our websites track you across other apps or sites, or let others do so, so a Do Not Track signal changes nothing.
- United Kingdom. You can also ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or for a copy of it in a common format. We keep your emails so we can answer them, the anonymous record RevenueCat keeps for us to check your plan and provide your free trial or what you bought, and your waitlist address with your consent, which you can withdraw anytime. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
- European Union. Fermozi isn't offered in the EU's app stores, but visitors there can use our websites: we keep a visitor's waitlist address with their consent, which they can withdraw anytime, and their emails so we can answer them. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
- Canada. You can also withdraw your consent, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
- Australia and New Zealand. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or to New Zealand's Privacy Commissioner.
- India. As the rights in India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act come into force, you can ask us for a summary of your information and how we use it, ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it, raise a grievance with us, and name someone to act for you. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can then complain to the Data Protection Board of India. A summary of this policy in Hindi comes with our Hindi pages, and the full policy in Hindi follows.
- Latin America. You can also ask us to update your information, to stop or limit its use, or for a copy in a common format where your country's law provides for it. You can complain to your country's data protection authority.
Children, security and changes
Children. Fermozi is a business tool for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we hold information about someone under 18, we delete it.
Security. Fermozi's data sits in the app's private storage on your phone, protected by your phone's lock. Use a passcode or Face ID, and keep your phone's software up to date. Anyone holding your unlocked phone can open the app. Our support email, the waitlist and the RevenueCat account that checks your plan sit in accounts protected by two-step verification.
Changes. If we change this policy, we'll post the new version at fermozi.com/privacy with a new date. If a change affects what Fermozi does with your information, the app update that makes it will tell you first. We won't use information we already hold in a materially different way without your consent.
